The mechanism of obfuscation is very simple. Jasob JavaScript Obfuscator parses files with JavaScript code and replaces descriptive variable and function names, such as 'Customer', 'Salary', 'First Name' with meaningless names: 'd', 'g', 'm'. It also removes comments and unnecessary whitespace characters (space, tab, carriage return, line feed). The functionality of the code remains the same but source code changes dramatically.
