 PDF Master Office Edition 3.0 wird auf nur einem Computer (i.d.R. ein einzelner Server) in einem Netzwerk installiert. Die Anwendung ermöglicht dann die komfortable serverseitige Konvertierung von Dokumenten und Dateien, für die entsprechende Anfragen von den im Netzwerk angemeldeten Computern an den Server gesandt werden, in das PDF-Format.
Konvertierungsaufträge können von jeder Anwendung mit Druckfunktion und Zugriff auf die Netzwerkdrucker gesendet werden. Zu diesem Zweck reicht es aus, PDF Master Office Edition 3.0 auf den Computern der Benutzer als virtuellen Netzwerkdrucker einzurichten, nachdem die Anwendung auf dem Server-Rechner installiert wurde. Dabei wird das in Windows übliche Standard-Verfahren verwendet, mit dem ein neuer Drucker eingerichtet werden kann: unter „Drucker und Faxgeräte“ in den „Einstellungen“ im Startmenü wird PDF Master Office Edition 3.0 als Netzwerkdrucker hinzugefügt.
Da die Umwandlung der Dokumente und Dateien in das PDF-Format zentral auf dem Computer erfolgt, auf dem PDF Master Office Edition 3.0 installiert ist (also i.d.R. auf dem einen Server), ist nur eine Installation erforderlich.
PDF Master Office Edition 3.0 sendet die erstellten PDF-Dokumente automatisch an den jeweiligen Computer zurück, der Konvertierungsanfrage versandt hat. Insgesamt können die folgenden Verteilungsregeln für die erstellten PDF-Dateien definiert werden:
- in freigegebenes Verzeichnis des Benutzers
- in vom Administrator festgelegtes Verzeichnis (zentrale Ablage)
- Versand als E-Mail-Anhang an die Adresse des Benutzers
- Versand als E-Mail-Anhang an eine oder mehrere andere, vom Administrator festlegte Adressen
- Druck-Ausgabe auf Papier
Der Administrator von PDF Master Office Edition 3.0 kann so die Dokumente z. B. unmittelbar in das für die Dokumenten-Archivierung vorgesehene Verzeichnis kopieren lassen oder an die Adresse(n) der für die Archivierung zuständigen Mitarbeiter senden. |
